I help musicians live an aligned and expansive creative life and provide coaching training for educators and arts leaders seeking personal and cultural transformation. I believe in a music world that allows artists to find their unique creative pathways. I believe that coaching helps us unlock our own answers and set goals from a place of intrinsic motivation and personal agency. Coaching helps us ask powerful and effective questions in the service of others finding their own answers.

What to Expect?

Discovery Call

If you are curious about coaching, sign up for a free 30-minute discovery call.  In this first session, I’ll ask you to share some of your story, I’ll ask you lots of questions, and I’ll answer any questions you might have about me or the coaching process. There are lots of coaches out there and I really want to make sure you find the best fit for where you are in your life right now.

Pre-Coaching Questionnaire:

Whether you sign up for a single session or multiple sessions, I’ll send you a pre-coaching questionnaire that will lay the foundation for our work together.  You’ll send this back to me 24 hours before our first coaching session.

Individual Coaching Sessions:

The coaching relationship is a co-created partnership defined by boundaries, purpose, intentionality, equality, and mutual respect.

You always set the agenda and I’ll meet you where you are each time.  The model of coaching I use is the “Start with Heart” Model, which means that any actions or goals that you set for yourself will be aligned with the things you care about at a heart level.

  • "Ashley's coaching is phenomenal and her spirit is joyful and contagious. She creates a space for her clients that is welcoming and truly inspirational. The session helped me immensely. I can't recommend her enough! "

    Carrie Schafer

Founder of Whole Heart Wisdom and Professional Musician

  • "I found Ashley’s coaching sessions to be both inspirational and motivational! She helped me see my purpose and a way forward after I made a change in my performance career that left me feeling directionless and vulnerable. She was very organized and took notes that she forwarded me after our meetings, which have been great to look back on when I want to get thinking about the future again. Ashley’s compassion and genuine joy that she finds through helping people find their purpose makes her a terrific coach!"

    Hana Beloglavec

Assistant Professor of Music, Louisiana State University

  • Ashley brings grace and generosity of spirit to every coaching session and has helped me rediscover what matters most to me as a musician. She has also helped me to integrate my dearest held values as a person into my musical identity. Thanks to her warmth and humor, I am moving forward with intention for the first time in a long time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Coaching is the most non-directive form of help. This means that I’ll ask you lots of open-ended questions that will help you find your own answers. As a coach, I believe that you are the expert on yourself and that you’ll be more likely to follow through with a goal if it comes from your own intrinsic motivation. This also means that I won’t share my own experience (like a mentor or teacher), unless you ask.

Coaching is about planting seeds and it’s a process. Therefore, I won’t be creating targets for you, but will be supporting you as you set goals for yourself and serving as a non-judgmental support and accountability system to help you reach your goals. Coaching is a form of help that focuses on your present and future goals, so we won’t be diving into your past! That’s for a therapist! Ultimately, I’m going to be your champion, your thought partner, and a space-maker for helping you build your most expansive and aligned life.

  • If I had a magic wand, my wish would be that every human could have the support of an amazing therapist and life coach as a part of their growth-team. A therapist helps you sort out the various conditioning and traumas of your past, while a good coach helps you integrate, align and focus your goals into meaningful steps towards where you want to go. When you hire a coach, you are hiring a non-judgmental accountability partner who believes in you without question, thinks you are already capable and whole, and supports you to unlock the potential that is already inside!

  • I will meet you where you are with empathy, compassion, fun and curiosity. You will always set the agenda for our sessions.

Each person seeks coaching for different reasons and I do not subscribe to the one-size-fits-all approach.

I will be your thought-partner and champion for you living into a vision for your life that feels aligned with what matters most to you.

I will support you towards growth, healing, and transformation that feels organic and will ask you open-ended questions that will help you find your own answers.

We will always start with heart, because any goal you set for yourself should be aligned with what matters to YOU most.

  • I handle all of my scheduling through Calendly. You can reschedule any session 24 hours before our scheduled time without any fee. If you miss a coaching session or need to cancel within 24 hours, you will not receive a refund for that session.

  • All coaching sessions are strictly confidential. I am happy to share coaching notes from each session with you if you would like them to review in between our sessions. The only time that coaching would not be confidential is if I believed that you were at risk to harm yourself or others.

  • We can figure some of that out in the discovery session. Typically, my clients start with a package of 3 sessions and then decide how frequently they would like to utilize my coaching services. I have clients who have been working with me bimonthly since I began coaching several years ago, and I have some clients who check in with me every few months and just sign up for one session at a time.

  • I trained with the Co-Active Training Institute and Graydin and have over 300 hours of client experience. The ACC stands for Associate Certified Coach and is the certification through the International Coaching Federation that includes: over 60 hours of training, 100+ hours of coaching experience, demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the application of the ICF Core Competencies, Code of Ethics, and definition of coaching.

3 hour-long sessions are $345 and need to be used within a 3-month timeframe.

If you’ve had your free discovery, or know that you are ready to book your sessions, you can go to www.calendly.com/coachingthewholemusician to reserve and pay for your sessions.

Simply choose the number of sessions you’d like and sign up for your first session. If you choose the 3 or 6 session package, you’ll be able to pay for the sessions in advance and reserve the date of your first session. After your first coaching, you’ll be sent a private calendly link to reserve your remaining sessions.

  • All of my coaching sessions are typically held on zoom. If you are based in Cincinnati, OH or the surrounding area, I would be willing to consider the option of in-person coaching on a case by case basis.
