Hello and thank you for your visit. In anticipation of the release of my debut album "Behold Him" I am in the process of creating a new and improved website. It is my hope that when you visit the new site it will give a more complete picture of who I am. Please check back frequently for updates to the page. I made my solo debut in the eighth grade, playing the Hummel Trumpet Concerto, at the National Trumpet Competition, with the Capitol Winds. I loved the stage, I enjoyed the attention of the spotlight, and I knew that I had been given a unique talent that would give my life "direction" and "purpose". And though my path has yielded a tremendous amount of success and opportunity as a trumpet soloist, I'm coming to realize that my identity and worth is not found in the trumpet or even in the apparent success of my career. For years, all I wanted was to be "in the spotlight". I wanted people to proclaim the greatness of "Ashley Hall" and I wanted to see my "kingdom" established here on this earth. To many, this might seem like an innocent desire. But, because another desire of mine was to serve God and to live in a way that brought Him glory, I knew that I couldn't serve these two different kingdoms. I find my purpose in "seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness", and I'm experiencing the truth that "all of these things will be added unto you". What things? Well, the desires of my heart. The Lord gave me the ability to play the trumpet well, and He filled me with the desire to be a trumpet soloist. He also gave me a personality that feels the most alive when I am connecting with people. It is with this focus and heart that I present my debut album entitled "Behold Him". This album features the following songs: "Power in the Blood", "Were You There?", "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", "Stand Up for Jesus", "He Keeps Me Singing", "Have Thine Own Way", and "Jesus Paid It All". Saxophonist Arnold Culbreath joins me on a funk version of "Stand Up for Jesus", and soprano Donna Martin sings on "Have Thine Own Way". The final track is an arrangement of hymns by the former principal trumpeter of the Cincinnati Symphony, Philip Collins, entitled "Power Medley". Trumpet players from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra form the ensemble for this wonderful medley.
